Frequently Asked Questions
Product, controls, capabilities, and access — answered plainly.
01Product
What BOB is, who it serves, and where the money lives.
BOB is an AI finance operator that helps businesses understand their finances, prepare and govern payments, and track provider-backed settlement.
BOB is built for owner-led businesses and finance teams that want less operational busywork without giving up control of payments.
- Ask finance questions and review recommended actions in chat.
- Prepare invoices and payment proposals from real workspace data.
- Apply the same server-side controls across chat, dashboard, and API workflows.
BOB is a financial technology company and is not a bank. Bank deposit services provided by Erebor Bank NA, Member FDIC. Crypto and blockchain settlement rails, where available, are not deposits and are not FDIC-insured.
02Controls
How policy, approvals, and payment execution fit together.
- BOB prepares an eligible payment and shows the destination, amount, and provider rail.
- Server-side policy evaluates limits, recipient rules, velocity, and required approval.
- After required checks clear, BOB submits the instruction to the configured banking provider and tracks its status.
Payments that satisfy your configured controls may proceed automatically. New, changed, unusual, or out-of-policy payments can require verified approval or be blocked.
Controls can include per-payment and daily limits, velocity rules, trusted recipients, cooling-off periods, approval thresholds, and stronger verification for sensitive actions.
Provider, compliance, and platform controls may still hold or reject an action even when it fits your workspace policy.
03Capabilities
Accounts, rails, channels, and connected data.
Eligible businesses may apply for a BOB-managed operating account provided through our banking partner.
Account and payment availability depends on business eligibility, verification, workspace access, provider capabilities, and applicable terms.
For approved accounts and destinations, the provider integration supports selected USD payment workflows including ACH and domestic or international wire.
Rail availability, timing, reversibility, limits, and fees vary by provider, account, destination, and transaction.
Slack is the primary conversational surface. SMS availability depends on the environment, and WhatsApp is not currently available.
Supported workspaces can connect external systems through the Integrations page. Connected-system access is read-only unless a separately authorized BOB workflow explicitly says otherwise.
BOB-issued cards and credit products are not part of the current product.
04Access
Verification, pricing, and technical access.
Businesses must complete applicable business and identity verification with the banking provider before provider-backed account or payment capabilities are enabled. Requirements and timing vary by business and provider.
Usage, account, provider, rail, and processing terms are disclosed before the relevant capability is activated. BOB does not promise a free-forever production plan.
Approved workspaces can use scoped API access. The OpenAPI specification describes the technical contract; endpoint availability depends on credentials, role, scope, environment, and configured providers.
Create a workspace or start the Slack setup flow. Access to account and payment capabilities is confirmed separately after eligibility and verification checks.
